Following one month of racing FFL has the flexibility to start selling some of the riders acquired to re-launch the squad and helping the team develop further. The theme of the teams latest update is Wales, Wales and Wales
The first Wales is for national rank, the #1 spot being something that FFL regained earlier this week – an important milestone on their comeback and something that, with no loss of points for the next half season, they hope to keep for the foreseeable future. An onwards and upwards trajectory is destined for the squad for the top division once again, but there are some challenges en-route that FFL want to negotiate before pushing to reach the top flight.
The second Wales if for their tour. FFL manager was instrumental in getting a Welsh tour on the OCM calendar, however as a top team was never eligible to compete. As such the primary target for the new season is to reach division 2 and target Cymru Taith. FFL still need to gain a few more positions to be eligible for this race but are confident of being there by the day 32 signup and have stated that If needed will enter minimal to ensure a top 50 ranking is not reached ahead of the tour signup
The third Wales is for home grown talent. FFL manager said he is yet to find a superstar Welsh talent, but is committed to training young talented Welsh riders to support the National team and maintain a Welsh contingent in the squad even if they wouldn’t usually meet FFL’s usual requirements for the training rigour. Floyd Blackwood and Quinby Towns are currently part of the FFL Welsh youth talent development program and FFL are on the search for more young Welsh talent
With so much Welsh focus is would be easy to forget the bigger picture, but FFL’s short term target remains acquiring a squad of 18 riders with 45+ Av to cover the core disciplines alongside the Welsh youngsters on the training program. Once this is achieved the squad will look to evolve to replace some of the older riders and refine the skillsets in the team to meet the vision of FFL’s manager that would be needed to be a top team once again….watch this space

Are you just taking a short break, or is this another long one?
Really like what you're building! But you should think again of Cymru CymruTaith. Montelbano will be there in TF ;)
like it a lot...lets hope with the growing Welsh community that we can get the national team winning too.
I like your focus James, It's something I want to do myself, focus on riders from my own country. :-)
Yeah, it's hard to find so many good talents from just one nation. Must be a big nation like Netherlands, then you might have been able to that. And still be a top div 1 team
Think I may stuggle to get a 100% Welsh team, hopefully get a few however.
Cheers Sprintkings, think I will just max out the 2 i'm training at the moment first unless any leader quality Welsh talents
Good luck FFL. Hope to see a 100% welsh team in the end ;)
